PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind SecuTec® OA is a specialized knee orthosis designed to relieve pressure on the knee joint and provide stabilization for individuals with medial or lateral knee osteoarthritis and leg axis misalignment. It is particularly suitable for moderate to severe osteoarthritis, as well as postoperative rehabilitation following cruciate ligament injuries, cartilage procedures, or meniscus surgery.

Its lightweight, rigid aluminum frame provides strong external support, while the adjustable lower leg frame allows controlled unloading of the affected side of the knee. With medial or lateral unloading adjustment of up to 12° varus/valgus, the orthosis helps redistribute pressure across the knee joint to reduce discomfort and support mobility.

The SecuTec® OA features an adaptive calf shell, adjustable straps with quick-release fasteners, and integrated gel pads for improved comfort and a secure fit. Its slim, anatomically adaptable design supports everyday movement while allowing the knee to maintain its range of motion as prescribed. A custom-made option is also available to accommodate individual anatomical and treatment requirements.

SIZING & FIT

Measure the leg according to the official Bauerfeind SecuTec® OA sizing guide.
Refer to the product measurement illustration to determine the appropriate size.
Position the orthosis so that the hinge joints align correctly with the knee joint.
Adjust the lower leg frame and straps to achieve a secure, anatomically appropriate fit.
Ensure the adaptive calf shell sits comfortably against the lower leg without excessive pressure.
Have the unloading force and varus/valgus adjustment configured by a qualified orthotist according to the affected knee compartment and treatment requirements.
A custom-made version may be considered when standard sizing does not provide an appropriate fit.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Clean the coated aluminum components with pH-neutral soap.
Hand wash the upholstery and straps at 30°C.
Allow the washed components to dry naturally before wearing the orthosis again.
Never expose the orthosis to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
Avoid harsh cleaning agents that may damage the frame coating, padding, or fastening components.
Follow the manufacturer's care instructions for additional cleaning and maintenance requirements.
