PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind MalleoLoc® L is a slim, anatomically contoured ankle orthosis designed to stabilize the outer side of the ankle and protect against recurring sprains caused by ligament weakness or instability. It is particularly suitable for everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, cycling, and hiking, providing reliable support without unnecessarily restricting the foot’s natural movement.

Featuring a rigid, anatomically shaped L-shell positioned along the outer ankle, the MalleoLoc® L helps protect the lateral ligament structures against unwanted movements that may lead to further injury. Two non-elastic fastening straps secure the orthosis around the lower leg and foot, providing targeted stabilization and a secure fit inside footwear.

Its low-profile design fits comfortably into sports shoes and business shoes, making it suitable for daily use and light sporting activities. The orthosis supports the foot’s natural heel-to-toe movement, allowing comfortable walking while helping maintain ankle stability. An optional plantar pad can be attached beneath the foot to stimulate the muscles involved in lifting the foot and contribute to active ankle stabilization.

SIZING & FIT

• Measure the foot or ankle according to the official Bauerfeind MalleoLoc® L sizing guide.
• Refer to the product measurement chart to select the appropriate size.
• Position the rigid L-shaped shell along the outer ankle, ensuring it sits correctly in front of the lateral malleolus and extends slightly across the instep.
• Secure the lower-leg strap and foot strap using the Velcro fasteners.
• Adjust both straps to achieve a stable, comfortable fit without excessive pressure.
• Check that the orthosis remains securely positioned inside the shoe and does not interfere with natural walking movement.
• If recommended, attach the optional plantar pad according to the manufacturer's fitting instructions.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Open the Velcro fasteners before cleaning.
• Attach the ends of the straps to their designated fastening areas to help prevent damage.
• Remove the cushioning upholstery from the shell before cleaning.
• Hand-wash the removable upholstery separately using a mild detergent.
• Allow the upholstery to air-dry naturally before reattaching it.
• Follow the manufacturer's care instructions for cleaning the rigid shell and fastening components.
