PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind ValguLoc® is an anatomically contoured postural splint designed to correct and maintain the alignment of the big toe in individuals with hallux valgus (bunion). Suitable for conservative treatment and post-operative care, it helps guide the big toe toward a more natural position while the foot is at rest.

Featuring a supportive half-shell construction, the ValguLoc® holds the big toe in the correct axis by applying gentle, adjustable corrective pressure. This helps stretch shortened joint capsule structures and surrounding soft tissues while supporting the toe's alignment. Its continuously adjustable Velcro fastening system allows the correction pressure to be personalized according to individual needs and comfort.

The orthosis includes low-fatigue cushioning on the inside to improve wearing comfort and help reduce pressure points. Its protective shell also provides a degree of protection against external contact. Designed for use while resting, particularly at night, the ValguLoc® is intended to be worn without shoes and is not suitable for walking.

SIZING & FIT

• Refer to the official Bauerfeind ValguLoc® sizing guide to select the appropriate size.
• Position the orthosis around the big toe and forefoot, ensuring the toe is aligned with the orthosis's anatomical shape.
• Secure the Velcro fastening system to hold the big toe in the intended position.
• Adjust the corrective pressure gradually to achieve a comfortable fit without excessive tension, pain, numbness, or skin irritation.
• Wear the orthosis without shoes while resting, following the recommended treatment schedule.
• Do not use the orthosis for walking or other weight-bearing activities.
• Following surgery, use the orthosis according to the treating healthcare professional's instructions.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Clean the ValguLoc® separately by hand using a mild, alkali-free cleaning agent.
• Close all Velcro fasteners before cleaning to help preserve their fastening performance and prevent damage.
• Clean the orthosis gently and avoid harsh cleaning agents.
• Allow the product to air-dry naturally.
• Do not expose the orthosis to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
• Ensure the orthosis is completely dry before wearing it again.
