The Bauerfeind Spinova® Mum is a lumbar and pelvic support orthosis designed to relieve lower back discomfort, stabilize the sacroiliac (SI) joints, and support the pelvis during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Its specialized design helps support the lumbar spine, reduce excessive lower back arching, and provide gentle abdominal lifting without placing unnecessary pressure on the growing belly.

Featuring integrated, adjustable rigid corset stays and an intuitive tensioning strap system, the Spinova® Mum helps straighten the lumbar spine while providing circular compression around the pelvis. This helps stabilize the pelvic girdle and relieve strain on the SI joints and pubic symphysis. Removable viscoelastic SI joint pads provide additional targeted support to help reduce tension in the lower back and pelvic region.

Made from lightweight, breathable, and skin-friendly mesh, the orthosis offers comfortable wear with minimal heat buildup. Its soft abdominal closure and adjustable straps adapt to changes in abdominal size throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery, providing customizable support for the back, abdomen, and pelvis.

INDICATIONS

Lumbar spine conditions:

Pain and instability in the lumbar spine and pelvic region
Lumbago
Radicular and pseudoradicular lumbar syndromes
Acute or chronic lumboischialgia
Moderate lumbar deformities, including hyperlordosis and spondylolisthesis
Conditions following lumbar disc surgery involving small to medium-sized prolapses
Inflammatory and degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine

Pelvic and SI joint conditions:

Symphysis loosening
Symphysis rupture
Sacroiliac joint pain
Sacroiliac joint disorders, including SI joint syndrome, SI joint arthrosis, and SI joint instability
Acute or recurrent SI joint blockage

Pregnancy and postpartum support:

SIZING & FIT

Measure the circumference of the pelvis according to the official Bauerfeind Spinova® Mum sizing guide.
Refer to the product measurement chart to select the appropriate size.
Position the orthosis around the lumbar and pelvic region, following the manufacturer's fitting instructions.
Adjust the abdominal closure so it sits comfortably below the abdomen without applying excessive pressure.
Fasten the tensioning straps evenly to achieve the prescribed level of lumbar and pelvic support.
Ensure the corset stays provide comfortable support without causing discomfort or restricting normal movement.
Have the SI joint pads positioned or adjusted by a qualified healthcare professional when necessary.
Consult a doctor before first use during pregnancy or postpartum recovery, and have the orthosis fitted and explained by qualified personnel.

MATERIALS

The product features lightweight, breathable mesh, rigid corset stays, adjustable fastening components, and removable viscoelastic SI joint pads.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

If necessary, hand wash the orthosis at 30°C using a mild detergent.
Close all Velcro fasteners before washing to help prevent damage to the material.
Remove the SI joint pads and their Velcro attachment dots before cleaning the orthosis.
Hand wash the removable pads separately at 30°C using a mild detergent.
Do not wash the Velcro attachment dots.
Allow the orthosis and pads to air-dry naturally.
Do not expose the product to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
