PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind ManuLoc Rhizo® is a wrist and thumb orthosis designed to immobilize the wrist while securely supporting the thumb in a relaxed, functional position. It is suitable for conditions and combination injuries affecting the wrist, thumb carpometacarpal joint, and thumb basal joint.

Featuring anatomically contoured aluminum stays, the orthosis provides stable support to help protect the affected joints during treatment. Its adjustable construction allows the level of thumb immobilization to be modified as recovery progresses. The thumb support can be gradually loosened to increase mobility and eventually removed when appropriate, while the wrist remains stabilized.

The breathable, lightweight design features large VELCRO® Brand Fastening System straps for easy application and removal, even with one hand. Its low-profile construction and ventilation openings help provide comfortable wear throughout the day.

Pre-operative immobilization
Irritation of the wrist, thumb carpometacarpal joint, or thumb basal joint, including post-traumatic and post-operative conditions
Severe carpometacarpal joint arthrosis
Combined injuries affecting the wrist and thumb carpometacarpal joint
Carpal tunnel syndrome

SIZING & FIT

Measure the hand and wrist according to the official Bauerfeind ManuLoc Rhizo® sizing guide.
Refer to the product measurement illustration to select the appropriate size.
Position the orthosis to support the wrist and thumb in the recommended alignment.
Secure the fastening straps evenly to achieve a stable, comfortable fit without excessive pressure.
Adjust the thumb support only as directed by a healthcare professional to accommodate the prescribed stage of treatment.
Have the aluminum stays individually adjusted by an orthotist if necessary.

MATERIALS

The orthosis incorporates breathable textile materials, aluminum support stays, and VELCRO® Brand Fastening System components.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand wash separately in lukewarm water at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild detergent.
Remove the three support stays before washing.
Close all Velcro fasteners before washing to help prevent damage and preserve their fastening performance.
Do not expose the orthosis to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
Allow the orthosis to dry naturally before reinserting the support stays.
