PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind ManuLoc Rhizo long® is a wrist, thumb, and forearm orthosis designed to immobilize the wrist and parts of the forearm while securely supporting the thumb in a relaxed position. It is intended for conditions and combination injuries affecting the wrist, thumb carpometacarpal joint, and thumb basal joint.

Featuring anatomically contoured aluminum stays, the orthosis provides stable support to help protect the affected joints during treatment. Its adjustable construction allows the level of thumb immobilization to be modified as recovery progresses. The thumb support can be gradually loosened to allow controlled increases in mobility and eventually removed when appropriate, while the wrist remains stabilized.

The orthosis features a practical, lightweight design with breathable materials, ventilation openings, and large VELCRO® Brand Fastening System straps. Its full-length opening makes it easy to put on and take off with one hand, while the adjustable fastening system helps provide a secure, personalized fit.

Pre-operative immobilization
Irritation of the wrist, thumb basal joint, or thumb carpometacarpal joint, including post-traumatic and post-operative conditions
Severe carpometacarpal joint arthrosis
Combination injuries affecting the wrist and thumb carpometacarpal joint
Carpal tunnel syndrome

SIZING & FIT

Measure according to the official Bauerfeind ManuLoc Rhizo long® sizing guide.
Refer to the product measurement illustration to select the appropriate size.
Position the orthosis to support the wrist, thumb, and forearm in the recommended alignment.
Secure the fastening straps evenly to achieve a stable, comfortable fit without excessive pressure.
Adjust the thumb support only as directed by a healthcare professional to accommodate the prescribed stage of treatment.
Have the aluminum stays individually adjusted by an orthotist if necessary.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand wash separately in lukewarm water at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild detergent.
Remove the three support stays before washing.
Close all Velcro fasteners before washing to help prevent damage and preserve their fastening performance.
Do not expose the orthosis to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
Allow the orthosis to dry naturally before reinserting the support stays.
