PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind ManuLoc® long is an extended wrist and forearm orthosis designed to provide enhanced immobilization and support following severe injuries, surgery, or conditions requiring more extensive stabilization. As a longer version of the ManuLoc®, it stabilizes the wrist and extends along a larger portion of the forearm to help restrict painful movements and reduce unwanted mechanical stress during recovery.

Featuring three anatomically contoured rigid aluminum stays, the ManuLoc® long helps maintain the wrist in a relaxed, supported position while limiting bending, stretching, and rotational movements of the hand and wrist. Its extended construction provides additional stabilization for conditions requiring more intensive support, including post-operative care following fractures near the wrist and recovery after cast removal.

Despite its rigid support structure, the orthosis allows the fingers to move freely for controlled gripping activities, helping preserve functional hand use during rehabilitation. Its lightweight, flat profile fits comfortably under clothing, while breathable materials, ventilation openings, and generous open spaces promote airflow and wearing comfort.

Four large micro-Velcro fasteners allow the orthosis to be opened fully and secured easily, making application and removal convenient, even when using one hand. The design also facilitates access for wound checks and complementary treatments such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

SIZING & FIT

Refer to the official Bauerfeind ManuLoc® long sizing guide and product measurement chart to select the appropriate size.
Open all four micro-Velcro fasteners before application.
Position the orthosis along the wrist and forearm, ensuring the extended section follows the forearm comfortably.
Align the three rigid aluminum stays according to the manufacturer's fitting instructions.
Secure the fasteners evenly to maintain stable support without excessive pressure.
Ensure the fingers and thumb remain free to move for controlled gripping activities.
Check that the orthosis does not cause numbness, tingling, skin irritation, or changes in finger circulation.
Follow your healthcare professional's instructions regarding positioning, wearing duration, and permitted movements, particularly following surgery or fracture.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand-wash separately in lukewarm water at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild detergent.
Remove all three rigid aluminum stays before washing.
Close all Velcro fasteners before cleaning to help preserve their fastening performance and prevent damage.
Clean the orthosis gently and avoid harsh cleaning agents.
Allow the orthosis to air-dry naturally.
Do not expose the product to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
Reinsert the stays only after the orthosis is completely dry.
