The Bauerfeind ManuLoc® long Plus is an extended hand, wrist, and forearm orthosis designed to provide comprehensive immobilization and support following injuries, surgery, or conditions requiring controlled positioning of the hand and fingers. It stabilizes the wrist and parts of the forearm while immobilizing the palm and the second to fifth fingers, helping reduce painful movements and protect healing tissues from excessive mechanical stress.

Featuring three anatomically pre-shaped rigid aluminum stays, the ManuLoc® long Plus maintains the wrist in a functional position while limiting bending, extension, and rotational movements. Its removable, adjustable finger support secures the palm and long fingers in either an extended position or the intrinsic-plus position, depending on individual treatment requirements. This positioning helps protect the hand and supports appropriate soft-tissue management during immobilization.

The thumb remains free to move through a generously sized opening, allowing greater functional flexibility while the remaining hand is supported. The adjustable finger support can be removed when it is no longer required, allowing the orthosis to be adapted to different stages of treatment under professional guidance.

Its lightweight, breathable construction promotes wearing comfort, while large Velcro fasteners make application and removal straightforward, even when using one hand. The open, adjustable design also facilitates access for wound inspection and complementary treatments such as physiotherapy.

SIZING & FIT

Refer to the official Bauerfeind ManuLoc® long Plus sizing guide and product measurement chart to select the appropriate size.
Open the Velcro fasteners before application.
Position the orthosis along the hand, wrist, and forearm, ensuring the rigid stays align correctly with the anatomy.
Place the thumb through the designated opening, ensuring it remains free to move comfortably.
Position the removable finger support beneath or around the palm and long fingers according to the manufacturer's fitting instructions.
Adjust the finger support to achieve the prescribed extended or intrinsic-plus position.
Secure all fasteners evenly to provide stable support without excessive pressure.
Check that the fingers are positioned comfortably and that circulation is not compromised.
Follow your healthcare professional's instructions regarding finger positioning, removal of the finger support, and wearing duration, particularly after surgery or traumatic injury.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand-wash separately in lukewarm water at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a mild detergent.
Remove all three rigid aluminum stays before washing.
Close all Velcro fasteners before cleaning to help preserve their fastening performance and prevent damage.
Clean the orthosis gently and avoid harsh cleaning agents.
Allow the orthosis and removable finger support to air-dry naturally.
Do not expose the product to direct heat, including radiators or direct sunlight.
Reinsert the stays and reattach the finger support only when all components are completely dry.
