PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Bauerfeind MalleoLoc® L3 is a slim, multi-stage ankle orthosis designed to stabilize the outer ankle, protect against recurring sprains, and provide adjustable support throughout rehabilitation. It is particularly suitable for individuals with acute or chronic ankle instability, ligament weakness, or recurring ankle injuries who require different levels of stabilization as their condition progresses.

Combining a rigid, anatomically contoured L-shaped shell, adjustable fastening straps, and a muscle-activating compression support, the MalleoLoc® L3 offers three levels of stabilization to accommodate changing treatment requirements. The shell and straps can be removed progressively, allowing the orthosis to transition from rigid lateral stabilization to strap-assisted support and, finally, compression-based support.

The rigid shell sits along the outer ankle, while two non-elastic fastening straps secure the lower leg and foot to help protect against unwanted movements. When the shell and straps are removed, the breathable compression support provides a massage effect during movement, helping activate the surrounding musculature and support coordination.

Its slim, low-profile construction fits comfortably into many everyday, sports, and business shoes, while supporting the foot’s natural heel-to-toe movement.

SIZING & FIT

Measure the foot or ankle according to the official Bauerfeind MalleoLoc® L3 sizing guide.
Refer to the product measurement chart to select the appropriate size.
Position the compression support around the ankle, ensuring a comfortable anatomical fit.
If using the rigid shell, position it along the outer ankle, in front of the lateral malleolus and slightly across the instep.
Secure the two fastening straps around the lower leg and foot, adjusting them to achieve stable support without excessive pressure.
As stabilization requirements change, remove the shell first and attach the lower strap to the designated fastening area on the support, following the manufacturer's instructions.
For compression-only use, remove the remaining strap and shell as directed.
Ensure the support remains comfortably positioned and does not restrict natural walking movement.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Machine wash the compression support separately at 30°C using liquid detergent.
Remove detachable straps, the rigid shell, and any removable pads or splints before washing, where applicable.
Close the Velcro fasteners or secure them to their designated areas to help prevent damage.
Use a laundry net to protect the knitted fabric.
Limit the spin cycle to a maximum of 500 revolutions per minute.
Air-dry the compression support naturally. Do not tumble-dry, as heat may damage the knitted fabric.
Clean the rigid shell and other non-washable components separately according to the manufacturer's care instructions.
Wash the compression support regularly to help maintain its compression properties, elasticity, and hygiene.
